eMedia Guitar Method Volume 1 for Beginners CD-ROM
The eMedia Guitar Method Volume 1 for Beginners CD-ROM contains over 160 comprehensive lessons covering everything from the basics through chord strumming, playing melodies, and fingerpicking. New modern rock chapter includes various strumming styles, movable power chords, and power chord riffs.
Now with over 50 videos from instructor Kevin Garry, Ph.D., including split-screens and close-ups of both hands.
Learning guitar is made fun through over 70 songs including familiar hits from artists such as Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, and Steve Miller. This new version also includes a new rock rendition of “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” in the style of Guns N’ Roses.
Includes an animated fretboard, which displays the fingering for each song and exercise in real-time, adjustable to 4 different viewing angles. Multitrack audio gives full band accompaniment on many of the hit songs. Variable-speed MIDI track option allows students to practice any song or exercise at whatever tempo they want.
Learn guitar using either tablature or standard music notation. Additional features include a built-in automatic tuner, digital metronome, recorder, and 250-chord dictionary.
This is a great learning tool, better than books or videos. Completly interactive!!! It has tons of lessons and examples you can use to practice according to your skill level. If you think a lesson is to tough for you then go back a few lessons and try them again. You can slow down or speed up all songs using the included midi files with a visual fretboard in case you forget a particular chord. In addittion to the visual fretboard the program includes a chord dictionary where you can find more than 250 chords!
Lessons are progressive, meaning that new lessons are built based on previous excersices plus adding new information as you go through the course. You’ll find mini chord test in the program to test your new acquired knowledge.
Another usefull feature is that you can highlight a whole song or just part of the song you are having problem with, and have the program repeat that part over an over again untill you feel confortable with the song.
The program makes referece to OLGA (On-Line Guitar Archive) where you can find 100’s of songs for your skill level. If you find the songs to be boring you can always look for the ones you like at OLGA.
Conclusion: This software is the best interactive learning tool I have found. I have a couple of books and videos and none can be compared to eMedia Guitar Method. I recommend this software 100%
… and remember to …. practice … practice … and practice … because practice is the mother of all skills!!!
